a whole website about hotel saunas. yes, really.
Here’s the thing about being a sauna person: the first thing you do when you book a hotel is hunt for the sauna. Not the gym, not the minibar — the sauna. And every time, you hit the same wall. A little icon that says “sauna,” no detail, no photo, no idea whether it’s a glorious cedar room or a sad infrared box that’s been “temporarily out of service” since 2019.
So we’re building the resource we always wanted. A directory of hotels with saunas, sorted by people who actually care about the difference between dry and steam, who think a good löyly is worth flying for, and who will happily tell you when a sauna is small but honest and the towels are good.
what we look for
The type (dry, steam, infrared), who’s allowed in (some are open to all guests, some hide behind a spa fee), the hours and the vibe. We care less about thread counts and more about whether you can actually get hot, then cold, then hot again, in peace.
a note on honesty
We’re building this carefully. Right now, most listings are gathered from public sources and marked unverified until we hear back from the hotel directly. If a sauna is the entire reason for your trip, send a quick email to confirm before you book — and tell them we said hi.
where we’re headed
New York, London and Los Angeles are live. Paris, Amsterdam, Helsinki (obviously), Tokyo, Berlin and more are coming. Want yours next? Get on the list.
